Role Overview

The primary objective of this role is to serve as an integral member of the Underwriting Operations department, aiding the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders in the ongoing enhancement of service standards within the Underwriting Operations function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders in refining reporting capabilities and generating reports for management, key stakeholders, and relevant committees.
  • Act as a vital point of contact for post-bind inquiries, ensuring accurate performance and reporting of Credit Control, Financial, and system reconciliations.
  • Support the team in delivering operational excellence in areas such as Credit Control, Delegated Authority, and Underwriting administration.
  • Facilitate the processing of technical queries, ensuring timely communication through appropriate channels.
  • Contribute to the month-end closing process, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and punctually.
  • Assist the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders and the Central Operational Services (COS) Manager with operational and organization-wide initiatives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance team service delivery in alignment with established Service Level Agreements.
  • Engage with the broader Operations management team to develop and implement transformation initiatives aimed at improving team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support business process transformation efforts designed to enhance efficiency across end-to-end processes within the department and organization.
  • Participate in relevant groups and committees to report on team performance and collaborate with the wider operations management team.
  • Assist Operations department members with regulatory reporting, query resolution, and other necessary tasks.
  • Immediately report any suspicions of financial crime to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company's standards for Treating Customers Fairly.
  • Manage potential conflicts of interest to uphold the company's integrity.
  • Assist with ad-hoc operational matters for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining and developing technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Foster positive and effective relationships with all business units, market contacts, and regulators.
  • Proactively seek to identify and rectify errors.
  • Support the management, implementation, and review of operational best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies and procedures.

This position is ideal for candidates with some experience in General Insurance or the London Market who are eager to advance in an operations role.
