We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Facilities Coordinator to join our Facilities Management team at Northumbria University. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our campus buildings and grounds, providing exceptional customer service and supporting the delivery of high-quality facilities services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Facilities Manager in the delivery of facilities activities across City and Coach Lane campuses
  • Coordinate and supervise services and suppliers, including cleaning, window cleaning, waste management, grounds maintenance, and porterage
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to university policies
  • Operate to deliver an effective and cost-efficient service to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Provide management and supervision within the area of responsibility
  • Monitor and manage service activity, budget, health and safety, and develop management information for future planning and decision-making
About the Team

The successful candidate will be part of a small team of Facilities Coordinators, working closely with the Facilities Manager to deliver exceptional facilities services. The role will involve working at City Campus, with occasional travel to Coach Lane campus and other university buildings as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of facilities management practices, processes, and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners
  • Proven experience of working in facilities management, with a focus on delivering high-quality services and supporting customer needs
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience of managing budgets and resources, with a focus on delivering cost-effective solutions
  • Valid IOSH Health and Safety qualification (or equivalent)
