StokeonTrent, Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust Full time

Job Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a proactive, dedicated, and highly organized midwife to become a part of the maternity leadership team at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. This role is designed for those looking to enhance their managerial and leadership capabilities within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will oversee a bustling maternity outpatient department and a smaller antenatal clinic, necessitating flexibility to operate across multiple locations while providing strong leadership.

The antenatal clinic at Royal Stoke houses a dynamic fetal medicine department, where the appointed manager will offer guidance to a specialized team of midwives and support personnel.

Our day-care services are available seven days a week, catering to the needs of women and birthing individuals.

We seek a highly competent and seasoned midwife who exemplifies leadership, serves as a role model, and delivers essential managerial support.

You will integrate with a well-established outpatient midwifery team and collaborate closely with community team leaders, screening coordinators, and other specialized services.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

The Maternity Services Operations Manager will hold ongoing responsibility for the administration of the clinical area, which includes assessing care requirements, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs. Coordinate and manage midwifery services within the Antenatal Clinic, fostering partnerships with colleagues and medical staff across the Directorate to ensure a collaborative approach to patient care. Provide clinical leadership and establish standards to enhance high-quality practices. Facilitate innovative and evidence-based midwifery practices through professional leadership and support for the clinical team. Act as a credible and professional role model, encouraging and empowering staff to pursue personal and professional development, enabling them to reach their full potential. Assess clinical practices and outcomes to sustain and improve the quality of care across all aspects of midwifery practice within the Antenatal setting, utilizing clinical audits, research, supervision, and teaching. Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care for all women, maintaining continuity from referral to discharge within a multidisciplinary framework. The post holder will ensure compliance with Trust Policies and Procedures while maintaining accurate and contemporaneous records.
