About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to join our Clinical Team as an Assistant Psychologist. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in Psychology and be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments and apply psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members, and others involved in their care.
  • Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of clients' problems.
  • Plan and prioritize their own workload under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
  • Communicate complex information sensitively and maintain high professional standards at all times.
  • Work with individuals who have experienced or may experience emotional distress.
Requirements
  • A full and valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NICE Guidance (NG 54 - Mental health problems in people with learning disabilities: prevention, assessment, and management) and its application to adults with Learning Disabilities in community settings.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Honours degree in Psychology - 2:1 or above.
    • Eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society.
  • Desirable:
    • Other related academic qualifications.
    • Relevant paid or voluntary work experience.
