Behavioural Specialist

We are seeking a Behavioural Specialist to provide support to children who have faced trauma, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive.

About the Role
  • Work full-time to provide individualized support to children, addressing their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to de-escalate challenging situations, ensuring a calm and secure environment.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, fostering a sense of security and stability.
  • Set a positive example for students, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans for each child.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to support their growth and development.
  • Provide guidance and support to children, helping them understand and cope with the effects of trauma.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children who have experienced trauma, preferably in an educational or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and behaviour management techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support and guide children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) or a keen interest in working with SEN children is highly desirable.
