They emphasize the significance of resilience and the necessity of establishing a supportive atmosphere where every child can flourish. The team is dedicated to ensuring that children feel safe, valued, and understood as they progress through their educational experiences.
Key Responsibilities: As a Behavioural Support Specialist, your role will include:
- Providing full-time support to children who have faced trauma, offering them the compassion and understanding they require.
- Utilizing effective techniques to manage and de-escalate any challenging situations, maintaining a calm and secure environment.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to help them feel safe and supported.
- Setting positive examples for students, promoting a culture of respect and resilience.
- Collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop tailored support plans for each child.
- Monitoring and documenting the progress of students, adjusting strategies as needed to facilitate their development.
- Guiding children with empathy, assisting them in understanding and coping with the effects of trauma.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working with children who have experienced trauma, ideally in an educational or therapeutic context.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and behaviour management practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to supporting and guiding children.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
- Experience with children with special educational needs (SEN) or a strong interest in working with SEN children is highly desirable.

All salary rates quoted will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available in the future.
