Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioural Specialist to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Behavioural Specialist, you will work full-time to support children who have faced trauma, providing them with the care and understanding they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement effective strategies to de-escalate any situations that may arise, ensuring a calm and safe environment.
  • Develop strong, trustworthy bonds with students to help them feel secure and supported.
  • Set positive examples for students, fostering a culture of respect and resilience.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualized support plans for each child.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, adjusting strategies as necessary to support their growth.
  • Guide children in a compassionate manner, helping them understand and cope with the effects of trauma.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children who have experienced trauma, preferably in an educational or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and behaviour management techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and genuinely committed to supporting and guiding children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience with children with special educational needs (SEN) or a keen interest in working with SEN children is highly desirable.
