Director of Critical Care and Major Trauma Networks

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to fill the position of Director of Critical Care and Major Trauma Networks. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in a regional and strategic position.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the core SSCN team to deliver an annual work plan aligned to the SSCN Specification and reflective of national and local regional needs and priorities.
- Facilitate cross-organizational engagement and activity to bring together clinicians and managers from commissioning, provider organizations, and educational institutions to develop services and care in a consistent and equitable manner.
- Create a climate of innovation and improvement leading to the delivery of safer, higher-quality patient-centered care, acting as a conduit between commissioners and providers across an Integrated Care System (ICS) to provide monitoring, collaboration, and oversight of service delivery in line with national specifications and standards.
- Provide oversight and facilitate coordination of patient pathways between providers over a wide area to ensure equitable access to specialist resources and expertise, improving outcomes and quality standards, development of evidence-based patient pathways, and reduction in unwarranted variation in practice.
- Ensure the network team is equipped to provide objective, specialist expertise and advice to support provider Trusts in service delivery, improvement, and coordination of commissioned pathways, with a key focus on the quality and access to service provision.

Requirements- Extensive experience of working within a higher senior leadership position within an acute provider setting.
- Proven delivery of strategic leadership at an organizational or network level.
- Extended post-registration higher-level clinical and operational management experience.
- Evidence of preparing and implementing business and operational plans and informing the wider strategic service development at a local and wider cross-organizational/ regional level.
- Demonstrates ability to influence, develop, and use effective professional networks.
- Demonstrable evidence of successful operational and business planning and subsequent service delivery and evaluation.
- Extensive experience in staff and performance management and dealing with complex issues.
- Management and leadership of staff from a range of clinical and professional backgrounds.
- Knowledge of organizational and system activity performance management principles and practice.
- Ability to initiate, lead, manage, and implement complex change to improve services to patients.
- Demonstrates evidence of innovation and improvement in the provision of services.
- Ability to use skills in facilitation to collaborate and engage multiple stakeholders to inform and introduce service improvement.
