Position: Project Construction Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Hinkley Point C

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit and promote effective HSE leadership, fostering a robust and compliant Health, Safety, and Environmental culture throughout the entire construction lifecycle of the Project, ensuring all site operations are conducted safely and in compliance with CDM Regulations.
  • Oversee a designated area within the Balance of Plant (BOP) on the HPC initiative.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to propel the project towards the timely and safe delivery of designated areas, adhering to the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Guarantee the timely production of necessary deliverables to prevent construction delays.
  • Maintain Configuration Control across the scope of Works Information.
  • Monitor adherence to relevant codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, and specifications.
  • Address technical inquiries and track progress effectively.

Key Deliverables:

  • Assist the BOP Building Leads in executing the project scope.
  • Provide weekly updates on progress and project timelines.
  • Conduct productivity assessments and manage hours effectively.
  • Develop construction method enhancement plans.
  • Champion and nurture a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Education: Relevant degree in construction, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or HND/HNC in the same fields (desirable). A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Major Project Engineering (Construction) role is essential.
  • Possession of CCNSG or HSE MaPs Safety Passport.
  • Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance or higher.
  • Professional accreditation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Navis Works is desirable.
  • Knowledge of NEC ECC Contract is advantageous.
  • Proficient in basic IT applications.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in safely executing large-scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Experience in heavy industry or nuclear sectors is beneficial, as is experience in a Joint Venture or Alliance environment.
  • Ability to rapidly comprehend and master complex subjects.
