About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Support Specialist to join our successful Support department at Acorn Insurance & Financial Services LTD. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing technical support to our business users and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Support: Provide technical support to our business users, resolving issues and answering queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Bug Logging and Resolution: Recreate system bugs and accurately log them with third-party system providers, ensuring that issues are resolved efficiently.
  • UAT Software Testing: Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that new software releases meet our quality standards.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Work closely with our internal compliance department to ensure that system documents are maintained and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Insurance Product Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and distribution of insurance products from a technological perspective, utilizing bespoke software house toolsets.
  • Production Support and Continuous Improvement: Participate in production support and continuous improvement activities to enhance team practices and maintain high-quality solutions.
  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with department management to define product solutions at a technical level, considering best practice, version, and change control.
  • Software House Collaboration: Collaborate with software house Analysis, Technical, and Development teams as necessary.
  • Application and Product Testing: Assist with application and product testing as required.
Requirements
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written, communication, and consultancy skills, with the ability to articulate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Time Management: The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing a high level of support to our business users.
  • Industry Experience: Exposure to the insurance industry, with experience of analysis, design, and software house toolsets, such as Product Builder/Writing tools, Rating Engines, and Reporting Tools.
