Job Description

Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, ensuring alignment with Frisch's vision to be the 'Best Place to Work, Eat and Own'. This role involves hiring and developing employees and managers who share Frisch's values and vision, driving company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Development: Foster a culture focused on creating an outstanding internal and external customer experience. Provide ongoing leadership and operational development for the management team, creating a positive team environment by recognizing and reinforcing individual and restaurant accomplishments.
  • Direction and Delegation: Provide clear and consistent directions, delegating responsibilities to other management staff to inspire staff to achieve and exceed performance standards and expectations.
  • Team Alignment: Conduct meetings for the management team to promote team alignment, sharing restaurant goals and action plans to achieve or exceed performance standards.
  • Employee Engagement: Ensure Restaurant Managers conduct alley rallies with hourly staff in a positive manner, focusing on exceeding customer expectations.
  • Financial Management: Meet restaurant financial objectives by forecasting, scheduling, and monitoring expenditures and waste. Establish weekly sales and labor targets, manage profitability, analyze variances, and initiate corrective action to ensure company objectives are achieved.
  • Performance Monitoring: Share results of each period's performance against unit and company goals with the management team, along with action plans for continued success.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Accountable for achieving and maintaining appropriate staffing levels in the unit, with final approval of the weekly schedule.
  • Customer Experience: Consistently grow sales and customer counts by role modeling and coaching the delivery of an outstanding customer experience.
  • Compliance and Safety: Has ultimate responsibility for the unit's compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations, and satisfactory completion of the unit's safety audit.
  • Sanitation and Maintenance: Regularly enforce and monitor sanitary practices for food handling, cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or related field, and one to three years of management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Frisch's Experience: One to three years of Frisch's restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Certifications: ServSafe Certified.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to speak English fluently, with good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Leadership and Training: Ability to speak before a group of individuals, train, motivate, evaluate (written & verbal), coach, delegate, and supervise.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation. Ability to prioritize, handle stress, and deal with irate customers in a calm professional manner.
