Overview:

The Restaurant Operations Manager is tasked with ensuring the overall success of the dining establishment while aligning with Frisch's mission to be recognized as the "Best Place to Work, Eat and Own." This role encompasses the recruitment and development of team members who embody Frisch's core values, thereby driving the growth of the organization. The Operations Manager is accountable for guest satisfaction, financial performance, food safety, quality service, and maintaining a secure environment within the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a workplace culture that prioritizes exceptional experiences for both employees and customers. Provide ongoing leadership and operational guidance to the management team, while cultivating a positive team atmosphere through recognition of individual and collective achievements.
  • Deliver clear and consistent instructions, delegating responsibilities to management staff to inspire them to meet and exceed performance expectations. Ensure that managers are effectively training and developing non-management staff to uphold Frisch's standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the management team to promote alignment, sharing restaurant objectives and strategies to achieve or surpass performance benchmarks.
  • Oversee the execution of team meetings with hourly staff, ensuring discussions are constructive and focused on enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Meet financial targets for the restaurant through accurate forecasting, scheduling, and monitoring of expenses and waste.
  • Establish weekly sales and labor goals; manage profitability; analyze discrepancies and implement corrective measures to meet company objectives.
  • Communicate performance results against unit and company goals with the management team, along with action plans for ongoing success.
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels within the unit, with final approval of weekly schedules. Make informed decisions regarding hiring, retention, and team composition to ensure a successful operation.
  • Drive sales growth and customer engagement by exemplifying and coaching outstanding customer service. Implement local marketing initiatives and support community involvement.
  • Maintain ultimate responsibility for compliance with health, safety, and security regulations, ensuring successful completion of safety audits.
  • Regularly enforce sanitary practices for food handling and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols and oversee the maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field, with one to three years of management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred one to three years of management experience within Frisch's restaurants.
  • ServSafe Certification is required.
  • Fluency in English with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Capability to present information to groups.
  • Proficient in training, motivating, evaluating, coaching, delegating, and supervising staff.
  • Strong organizational and mathematical skills, with the ability to read, write, and follow recipes accurately.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage stress, and handle customer complaints professionally.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • High level of customer interaction, working with cooking equipment, and navigating slippery surfaces.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Physical agility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to bend, reach, and climb as necessary.
  • Good hearing, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated areas and around hot and cold food items.
