Safeguarding Specialist Role

We are seeking an experienced safeguarding nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will provide highly specialized advice and support on safeguarding issues, relating to child sexual abuse, sexual violence, and domestic abuse/interpersonal violence.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support on safeguarding matters, working closely with our team to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.
  • Represent the SARC at strategy meetings where child sexual abuse or sexual violence are considered.
  • Assist the SARC, Trust, and staff in their duty to protect children and adults from harm and abuse, working in line with the safeguarding principles outlined by the Children Act (2004) and Care Act Statutory Guidance.
  • Deputize for the Lead Nurse/Safeguarding Lead in their absence for SARC safeguarding issues.
Requirements

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be necessary.
