About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Home Manager to oversee the Day Shift and Night Shift at our residential care facility.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team at 4Recruitment Services and make a real difference in the lives of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Registered Manager in discharging their duties under the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Regulations, ensuring the highest standards of care and quality.
  • Lead a staff group of Residential Support Workers, promoting a positive and supportive team culture and ensuring effective implementation of practice.
  • Act as a corporate parent to the children in our care, providing a safe and nurturing environment that meets their physical, emotional, and psychological needs.
  • Manage day-to-day operations within the home, ensuring that professional practice is monitored and delivered within service procedures.
  • Complete handover meetings with Residential Support Workers, ensuring they understand tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and quality assurance of records completed by Residential Support Workers.
  • Coordinate appointments and ensure children attend all scheduled appointments, with Residential Support Workers completing records on the same day.
  • Investigate incidents and complete Incident Reports, submitting them to the Registered Manager as required.
  • Assist with bed management, ensuring availability of bedrooms for new arrivals and maintaining accurate records of children's belongings.
  • Plan and deliver activities that promote learning, development, and well-being, ensuring Residential Support Workers encourage children's engagement.
  • Work shift patterns as needed, monitoring, feeding back, and ensuring ongoing effective implementation and integrity of practice by the team.
  • Promote equality and anti-discriminatory behavior, encouraging all to express their wishes and feelings.
  • Complete regular supervision and practice development plans with Residential Support Workers.
Requirements
  • GCSE Level or equivalent or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
  • Experience of working with children or young people in a residential setting.
  • Leadership experience of a small staff team on shift.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and implementation of children's service provision.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication using a variety of tools with children and professionals.
  • Ability to lead a staff team and role model good practice.
  • Computer literacy and excellent use of IT and software systems, including Liberi.
  • Willingness to attend and contribute to training opportunities, supervision, and team meetings to continuously improve practice.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet the needs of the service.
