About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Patient Safety Manager to join our Corporate Patient Safety Team at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective patient safety strategies to reduce harm and improve quality of care.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to identify and address patient safety concerns.
  • Provide education and training to staff on patient safety best practices and incident management.
  • Support the systematic review of patient safety incidents and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Advise on the application of the national Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) to managing risk and safety.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the Health Service and current national initiatives, particularly in relation to Clinical Governance and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication, presentational, training, and report writing skills.
  • Skills required to undertake evaluations and/or audit.
  • Skills in the analysis and interpretation of information.
  • Ability to influence/persuade/motivate others.
  • Knowledge of CQC lines of enquiry.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office training (specifically Word and Excel).
