We are seeking an experienced Patient Safety Manager to join our Corporate Patient Safety Team at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective patient safety strategies to reduce harm and improve quality of care.
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical staff to identify and address safety concerns, and provide education and training to promote a culture of safety.
- Support the systematic review of patient safety incidents, and advise on the application of the national Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) to managing risk and safety.
- Work with care areas to analyze themes and trends within incidents, and support the development of safety actions to improve the delivery of services to patients.
- Knowledge of the Health Service and current national initiatives, particularly in relation to Clinical Governance and patient safety.
- Excellent communication, presentational, training, and report writing skills.
- Ability to influence, persuade, and motivate others.
- Knowledge of CQC lines of enquiry.
- Advanced Microsoft Office training (specifically Word and Excel).
- Postgraduate degree or working towards (Masters level).
- Teaching and Training qualification.
- Completed an accredited Patient Safety training programme.
- Experience of working in the NHS in a professional/managerial/specialist role.
- Experience of advising and liaising with staff at all levels, preferably in the NHS and academic institutions.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield, and Weardale, as well as over 80 other community-based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
