About the Role

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Patient Safety Manager to join its Corporate Patient Safety Team. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of an effective patient safety focus and culture through analysing themes and trends within incidents.
  • Advise on the application of the national Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) to managing risk and safety.
  • Provide education and training to clinical and non-clinical staff on patient safety.
  • Support the systematic reviews of patient safety incidents.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Health Service and current national initiatives, particularly in relation to Clinical Governance and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication, presentational, training and report writing skills.
  • Ability to influence/persuade/motivate others.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office training (specifically Word and Excel).
