Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, and contributing to the company's continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review weekly cash flow forecasts, management accounts, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Accounting and Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, process monthly journals, and reconcile accounts to ensure financial stability and compliance.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and provide insights to the finance team and management.
- Support to Financial Controller: Assist the Financial Controller in managing the month-end closing process, preparing budgets, and analyzing management accounts.
- VAT Returns and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely submission of VAT returns, and maintain compliance with financial regulations.
- Work Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Education: BSc/Ba in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field, or AAT 4 qualified/Certified by experience.
- Skills: Strong math skills, ability to spot numerical errors, hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage), and excellent organizational skills.
- Competitive Salary: £35,000 per year.
