The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing finance teams, with a strong focus on financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Develop a High-Performing Finance Team: You will lead and develop a team of seven finance professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
- Oversee Financial Operations: You will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and Analyse Financial Reports: You will prepare and analyse comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Develop and Monitor Budgets and Forecasts: You will develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable insights to support business decision-making.
- Collaborate with Senior Management: You will collaborate with senior management to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth.
- Optimise Spending: You will work to optimise spending while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Provide Financial Guidance: You will provide financial guidance on business decisions and growth strategies.
- Contribute to Business Planning: You will contribute to medium and long-term business planning through financial performance analysis.
- Support Business Development: You will support business development by preparing financial information for tenders and attending prospect meetings when required.
- Evaluate and Enhance Financial Systems: You will evaluate and enhance financial information systems and processes.
- Liaise with External Auditors: You will serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a similar financial leadership role
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and commercial best practices
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- Adaptability and willingness to support various business functions
