Pension Governance Expert Wanted

IGA Talent Solutions is currently supporting a long-standing client in a search to hire a Professional Trustee to join their team in Manchester.

About the Role
  • Generous starting package of up to £100k base salary, plus bonus and benefits
  • Manchester, with hybrid working, 3 days a week in the office
  • Full time

Pension governance professionals play a crucial role in helping Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension schemes in the UK make informed decisions, meet regulatory requirements, and deliver a secure financial future to their members.

This is a unique opportunity for a talented mid-career individual looking to move into independent professional pension trusteeship. Our client is seeking to enhance their existing trustee team with new colleagues who will expand the skills and diversity of the team and bring a fresh perspective.

As a member of a highly collaborative and friendly team, you will receive full support in your development as a trustee, initially working with smaller to mid-sized clients. Career progression to full trustee director would be expected to take three to six years depending on individual circumstances.

The pension governance industry is experiencing rapid growth, with 20% revenue growth for the last 3 years and a continued rise in the number of trustee appointments. The marketplace is evolving too, with new professional trustee qualifications/accreditations, different services and offerings (sole-trustee, outsourced pensions management), and a gradual change in the makeup of the workforce.

Our client specializes in providing appointable trustees, with the right expertise and experience, to successfully run pension schemes for some of the UK's largest employers.

The team is made up of former investment professionals, actuaries, lawyers, accountants, pension managers, and corporate financiers, who combine to share knowledge to deliver better outcomes.

We are looking for an individual with at least 10 years in a pension and/or investment-related role. You will have strong interpersonal skills and commercial experience and an ability to develop new relationships and win the trust of sponsors and trustee boards.
