About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Development Engineer to join our Production Engineering Team at QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS) UK.

As a Test Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in defining and implementing the way we test and ensure products meet performance specifications.

You will work closely with our design engineering teams to provide test expertise through design reviews and design-for-manufacture discussions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement test strategies for products
  • Liaise with R&D to ensure new products are designed for optimal testing
  • Design and supervise the assembly of ATE test fixtures
  • Develop and commission ATE test programs and fixtures
  • Develop standalone test methods and design hardware and software solutions
  • Document test procedures for factory use
  • Provide training and support to factory test supervisors
  • Manage changes to product testing in a live environment
Requirements

You will be degree qualified in a relevant field or have equivalent experience and qualifications, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a test development environment.

We are looking for individuals with the following key capabilities:

  • Radio frequency test and measurement experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electronics schematic drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic component data sheets
  • Understanding of EMC issues and solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills with experience of standard Microsoft Office apps
  • Helpful can-do attitude with a focus on delivering for customers
  • PCB design experience, including schematic capture, layout, and output to manufacture
  • LEAN manufacturing experience desirable
