About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Development Engineer to join our team at QinetiQ Target Systems (QTS) in Ashford, Kent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in defining, implementing, and altering the way we test and ensure products meet performance specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to the purchasing and production team
  • Work with design engineering teams to provide test expertise through design reviews and design-for-manufacture discussions
  • Design Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) test fixtures and supervise their assembly
  • Develop ATE test programs and commission them, along with the fixtures
  • Define the way products should be tested and implement that test strategy
  • Liaise and guide Research and Development (R&D) to ensure new products are designed in a way that is optimum for testing
  • Develop standalone test methods, then design and implement the necessary hardware and software solutions for these methods
  • Provide training and support to the factory test supervisors
  • Manage change to product testing in a live environment
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in a test development environment and radio frequency test and measurement experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electronics schematic drawings and electronic component data sheets
  • Degree in Aeronautical, Aviation, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
