Relationship Director

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Relationship Director. The role holder will be responsible for growing and maintaining a client portfolio of Financial Institution clients.
Key Responsibilities- Developing Effective Strategies: Develop effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipate customer needs, and provide a superior quality service to position HSBC as the market leader in this segment.
- Growing Sustainable Revenues: Grow sustainable revenues from the existing customer portfolio and through targeted acquisition of new quality customers.
- Proactive Relationship Building: Ensure proactive relationship building/customer contact plans and pipeline management for both existing and new customers.
- International Revenue Growth: Proactively grow international/cross border revenue.
- Market Knowledge: Keeping abreast of external factors influencing international business, such as economic, cultural, geographical, procedural, and regulatory requirements.
- Relationship Performance Monitoring: Monitoring relationship performance regularly to ensure that the return is commensurate with the type of customer and both CMB's and the customer's risk appetite.
- Collaboration with Product Partners: Collaborating with product partners to identify and match customer needs with relevant expertise, notably with Global Payment Solutions (GPS), Global Banking & Markets (GBM), and Global Private Banking (GPB).
- Effective Working Relationships: Establishing an effective working relationship with the Risk Management teams, in order to validate the accuracy of the customer risk profile.
- Fair Outcomes for Customers: Delivering fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
- Management Information Framework: Contributing to the development, implementation, and maintenance of a management information, analysis, and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
- NBFI Sector Knowledge: Knowledge of the NBFI sector will be a strong advantage, particularly with regards to key credit risk and financial crime risk drivers for companies in this space.
- Banking Products and Services: Good knowledge of and proven exposure to a broad range of banking products and services, across Credit & Lending, GPS, Global Banking (SFG / DCM / ECM / LAF), and MSS.
- Business Development Experience: Proven experience of business development and origination across both flow/transactional banking as well as event opportunities is essential.
- Sustainable Finance: Demonstrated interest and/or credentials in sustainable finance would be beneficial.
- Effective Networks: Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others, negotiating effectively is essential.
- Risk Management: A comprehensive understanding of risk management of all kinds and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance is essential.
