Position: Patient Administrator - Band 3 (30 hours per week)

Our department comprises Patient Administrators and Waiting List Administrators who deliver exceptional support to Consultants and Specialist Nurses in both Inpatient and Outpatient services. Our team collaborates closely with Administration Team Leaders to ensure effective management and cross-cover for the broader team, reporting directly to the Operational Support Manager.

Key Responsibilities

As a Patient Administrator, your role will include:

  • Delivering a confidential and efficient administrative service to the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultants and their Medical Team, facilitating optimal patient care and specialty services.
  • Collaborating with the administration team to ensure consistent service delivery and adequate administrative support.
  • Adopting a flexible approach to meet Consultant Team and Trust objectives, including timely typing, resolving patient inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the Admissions Team.
  • Reviewing Consultants' Waiting Lists to enhance patient pathways and maximize clinic utilization.

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy, NVQ level three in administration or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient typing and keyboard skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • IT proficiency for effective use of hospital computer systems.

Experience and Skills

  • IT experience with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
