Job Overview

The role is integral to a dedicated team that manages all administrative functions within the Breast Imaging Department, ensuring the highest quality of service while adapting to varying demands and achieving service targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Breast Imaging administration team to facilitate the smooth operation of a high-quality service, providing comprehensive administrative support.
  • Exhibit exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Support the breast administration of the Breast Screening and Symptomatic Imaging Service across the region, ensuring compliance with targets and assisting in the management of patient pathways.
  • Assist the Programme Manager in overseeing the High and Moderate Family History risk screening programs, utilizing various systems.
  • Provide secretarial assistance to the Imaging Department.
  • Monitor the Surveillance Programme weekly, ensuring service users are invited, results are processed, and follow-ups are scheduled appropriately.
  • Contribute to the interval cancer administration process.
  • Input diverse information using the NBSS/CRIS/TRAKCARE/BS SELECT systems, including service user registrations, appointments, attendance, and results, while handling confidential medical data.
  • Manage workload effectively under the guidance of the Screening Administration Coordinator.

We are responsible for delivering the National Breast Screening Programme for a significant population, working alongside an experienced administration team and collaborating with various specialties within the breast unit.

Our services encompass all breast outpatient needs for individuals requiring diagnosis or treatment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum Grade C (4) GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient computer and IT skills.
  • Professional telephone etiquette for interactions with service users and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills for managing and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to perform audio and copy typing.
  • Capacity to remain composed in a fast-paced environment while adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training and participate in mandatory training programs.
