We are seeking a highly organized and diligent individual to join our team as a Private Patient Officer - Band 3. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that private patient referrals are handled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that private patient referrals are dealt with promptly and efficiently
- Communicate with all grades of staff on a range of matters related to private and overseas patients
- Negotiate procedure slots with specialty booking teams for private patient procedures
- Arrange pre-admission tests to confirm patients' suitability for procedures, if required
- Implement Department of Health regulations regarding Overseas Patients charges
- Interview Overseas Patients to determine their status and entitlement to free NHS treatment
- Identify all private and overseas outpatients, ensuring legal documentation is completed and total income is identified
- Use in-house patient administration system to check information on patients, outpatient appointments, and results
- Raise invoices relating to private patient and overseas patient treatment on an outpatient basis and occasionally on an in-patient basis when required
- Cover colleagues during absences, annual leave, or sick leave, as required
- Ability to work flexibly within a team, sometimes under instruction and sometimes under their own direction
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, sometimes in a sensitive manner or in sensitive environments
- Ability to work quickly and accurately using own judgment and initiative as appropriate
