Salary: £99, £131,964.00 per annum (Pro-rata)

Employment Type: Substantive

Work Schedule: Full-time: 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5)

On-call Duty: Frequency 1:13 Category A - 3% on-call supplement

Required Qualifications:
  1. Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  2. CCT or equivalent qualification
  3. Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  4. Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  5. Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST

We are currently seeking a Community CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team, based in the Waltham Forest CAMHS Community Team. This is a substantive, full-time position involving 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5). This role is currently vacant, and we are eager to fill it promptly.

You will collaborate with a team of experienced professionals, including other CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, Specialty Doctors, and Trainees, and will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of our services.

Job Duties:

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to provide care for children and adolescents with mental health needs across the region.
  2. Offering senior medical support and guidance to the team.
  3. Engaging directly with children, adolescents, and their families, while coordinating with external CAMHS providers and acute hospitals as necessary.
  4. Participating in the on-call rota, currently set at 1:13, with a 3% of basic salary on-call supplement.
  5. Supporting your colleagues and team leader, while allowing them to exercise their own initiative.
  6. Working alongside other CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrists, Specialty Doctors, and Trainees within the service.
  7. Committing to collaborative efforts, actively engaging with other health and social professionals, and agencies.
Candidate Profile:
  1. GMC: Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  2. CCT: CCT or equivalent qualification
  3. SECTION 12: Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it
  4. Knowledge: Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it
  5. SPECIALIST REGISTER: Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
