About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Consultant to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. As a senior clinician, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of nursing practice within our Community Mental Health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical practice, including training and taking on the Responsible Clinician role in practice, for at least 50% of the post.
  • Lead professional leadership and consultancy, including clinical supervision, to ensure high-quality care and service development.
  • Develop and deliver education, training, and development programs for staff and other agencies to enhance nursing practice and service delivery.
  • Contribute to research and service evaluation initiatives to improve service provision and outcomes for our clients.
Requirements
  • First-level Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Recognized teaching qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience of working within areas relevant to designated team.
  • Experience of working therapeutically with adults of all ages.
  • Substantial experience in a nursing leadership role.
  • Ability to lead service development changes and awareness of the evolving healthcare agenda.
  • Experience of research and development into practice.
  • Evidence of facilitating quality improvement in practice.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance issues.
  • Experience of training and education/lecturing within higher education field.
