Lead the World's Most Diverse Seed Collection

The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections seeks a visionary leader to head its Millennium Seed Bank (MSB), the world's most biodiverse seed collection. As the Head of Seed Collections, you will develop and implement a long-term strategy for the MSB, collaborating with Kew Science's leadership team and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the MSB, aligning with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Lead the Partnership, Seed Collections, and Germination teams to achieve excellence in seed conservation and research
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and collaborators to advance the MSB's mission
  • Promote the seed collections locally, nationally, and internationally, highlighting their significance and value

About the MSB:

The MSB is home to over 2 billion seeds from around the world, making it the world's most biodiverse seed collection. As the Head of Seed Collections, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of scientists, conservationists, and experts to advance the field of seed conservation and research.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in leading teams and developing strategic plans
  • Strong understanding of seed conservation and research principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders
