This hospice is recognized as one of the largest independent charitable hospitals in the UK, dedicated to delivering high-quality care and a diverse range of services through a team of outstanding consultants and staff.
**To qualify for this role, candidates must hold a valid Registered General Nurse qualification with an active NMC Pin**
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of continuous, high-quality nursing care and uphold professional standards through evidence-based practices.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement in patient care by utilizing research and evidence-based methodologies.
- Serve as a role model and expert clinical practitioner within the team.
- Oversee and mentor trained staff, healthcare assistants, and nursing students.
- Support the Ward Manager in all aspects of leadership and management within the hospice inpatient unit.
- Contribute to the coordination of services offered by the inpatient unit and assist in the daily operations of the service.
- Participate, as needed, in the provision of additional services offered by the hospice.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience at Band 5 or higher in specialized palliative care or oncology.
- Proven ability to practice in an evidence-based and contemporary manner.
- Experience in identifying and managing risks within one’s own practice.
- Ability to support and guide junior or less experienced staff members.
- Strong assertive communication skills.
- Capability to conduct audits in an objective and efficient manner.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary of £35,000 per annum.
- Permanent full-time position, requiring 37.5 hours per week.
