Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist Opportunity

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced nurse to join our hospital palliative care team based at the Royal Free Hospital site. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse with a genuine interest in palliative care, along with a commitment to continuous learning, teamwork and mutual support.

This is an exciting opportunity for a band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist post, available from November 2024. The successful candidate will gain invaluable experience in palliative care, which can be applied to other care settings such as the Emergency Department, Intensive Care or for patients with long term conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality palliative care to patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with the palliative medicine consultants, palliative care clinical nurse specialists and a team administrator to provide excellent palliative care.
  • Develop and maintain skills and knowledge in general palliative care, including non-medical nurse prescribing and counselling skills.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree in palliative care, oncology, critical care or a relevant speciality.
  • Have experience in oncology, long term condition or palliative care.
  • Be able to articulate understanding of specialist palliative care and knowledge of strategic developments in palliative and end of life care in England and Wales.

£54,320 to £60,981 a year per annum inclusive of HCAS.
