Lead Computational Genetics Research Scientist

At Next-Link, our Genetics team is a vibrant and innovative group dedicated to leveraging advanced analytics and methodologies to tackle a wide array of scientific inquiries.

Embedded within the Patient Solutions division, this team plays a crucial role in supporting the entire R&D continuum, encompassing everything from target identification to clinical development and post-marketing activities.

We are seeking a contractor to assist with the analytical demands of our team, as well as to engage in and potentially spearhead projects that have an external focus.

Key QualificationsEssential:

- Proven experience in analyzing and utilizing genetic data derived from various platforms and analytical techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of statistics, particularly in the realm of statistical genetics.

Advanced Computational Proficiency:
- Expertise in R, Python, SQL, and Bash, along with experience in cloud computing environments.
- Capability to interpret and present data relevant to the research questions at hand.
- Solid understanding of the drug discovery process.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.

Desirable:
- Experience applying genetic methodologies to drug discovery and development.
- Familiarity with querying and utilizing population databases.
- Proficiency in functional interpretation of genomic data, including variant and gene pathway mapping and enrichment.
- Ability to synthesize and integrate data from diverse sources (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics).
- Knowledge of machine learning or artificial intelligence applications.
- Relevant biological expertise.

Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey analytical findings to varied audiences.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team to meet deadlines.
- Ability to rapidly acquire new knowledge and adapt to diverse projects.
- Excellent English communication skills, effectively utilized in an international and multicultural setting.
