Job Description

Next-Link is seeking a highly skilled Senior Computational Genetics Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our Genetics group, you will play a crucial role in developing and applying cutting-edge analytics and approaches to drive our research and development pipeline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the analytical workload within the group, including data analysis, statistical modeling, and computational biology.
  • Develop and lead projects with an outward-facing role, collaborating with colleagues from other functions to drive business outcomes.
  • Apply expertise in statistical genetics, computational biology, and machine learning to drive insights and inform business decisions.
  • Communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences, including business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in computational genetics and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • Direct experience in analyzing and using genetic data generated through multiple platforms and associated analytical approaches.
  • Expert knowledge of statistics, with specific experience in and application of statistical genetics.
  • Advanced computational skills, including proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and bash, and experience working in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to interpret and present data in the context of the question under study.
  • Good knowledge of the drug discovery process and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the application of genetics and genetic approaches to drug discovery and development.
  • Experience in using and querying population databases.
  • Expertise in methods for functional interpretation of genomics data, such as variant and gene pathway mapping and enrichment.
  • Ability to understand and integrate data from other sources, such as transcriptomics and proteomics.
  • Expertise in the application of machine learning or artificial intelligence approaches.
  • Relevant biology expertise.
