Job Description

CK Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Computational Genetics Scientist to join a global pharmaceutical company based in Slough on a contract basis for an initial 12-month period.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within a dynamic team that develops and applies cutting-edge analytical approaches to support the R&D pipeline.
  • Contribute to the analytical workload within the group, involving projects with an outward-facing role and potential leadership.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
  • Direct experience in analyzing and using genetic data from multiple platforms and associated analytical approaches.
  • Expert knowledge of statistics, particularly in statistical genetics, and advanced computational skills in R, Python, SQL, and bash.
  • Ability to interpret and present data in the context of the question being studied.
  • Good understanding of the drug discovery process and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in applying genetics and genetic approaches to drug discovery and development.
  • Experience in using and querying population databases.
  • Expertise in methods for functional interpretation of genomics data, such as variant and gene pathway mapping and enrichment.
  • Ability to understand and integrate data from other sources, such as transcriptomics and proteomics.
  • Expertise in the application of machine learning or artificial intelligence approaches.
  • Relevant biology expertise.
