We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Fundraising and Communications to join our team at Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our mission to provide emotional support, practical tools, and a sense of community to people who have been displaced from their countries of origin.

As Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to diversify our income streams and raise our profile. This will involve working closely with our Trustees, CEO, and existing Head of Fundraising and Communications to meet challenging fundraising targets.

You will be part of a small and highly committed fundraising team of three, including the existing Head of Fundraising and Communications, our Fundraising Officer, and yourself. This role will focus on corporate, community, and major donor stewardship, and you will be required to work both at our Centre in Islington and from home.

We are looking for someone who is resilient, professional, self-motivated, and has a strong work ethic and determination. You will need to have a strong track record of fundraising for charities and be able to develop events and write successful funding applications to trusts and other funding sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to diversify our income streams and raise our profile
  • Work closely with our Trustees, CEO, and existing Head of Fundraising and Communications to meet challenging fundraising targets
  • Develop events and write successful funding applications to trusts and other funding sources
  • Manage corporate and community fundraising, including major donor stewardship
  • Work closely with our Fundraising Officer to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan

Requirements:

  • Strong track record of fundraising for charities
  • Experience of developing events and writing successful funding applications
  • Ability to work closely with Trustees, CEO, and existing Head of Fundraising and Communications to meet challenging fundraising targets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
