Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Counselling Specialist to become a vital part of our team at Relate Bradford & Leeds. This role involves delivering high-quality therapeutic support to children and adolescents, ensuring their emotional and psychological well-being.

Key Responsibilities

The Youth Counselling Specialist will:

  • Provide professional counselling services to young individuals, adhering to the standards set by Relate.
  • Report directly to the National Operations Manager, ensuring that our counselling services maintain high clinical standards.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Office Manager to align services with the strategic goals of the organization and assist in evaluating service effectiveness.

Main Duties

Planning and Organization

  • Maintain precise records of client interactions and personal schedules.
  • Utilize our computerized database system for daily scheduling and client management.
  • Provide timely updates to the Appointments Manager following counselling sessions.
  • Support the Operations Office Manager in contract negotiations related to service delivery.

Case Management

  • Engage in regular supervision sessions with your assigned Relate supervisor.
  • Participate in group supervision with the Clinical Supervisor for Children & Young People.
  • Assist in the investigation of client complaints as necessary.

Administrative and Financial Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation of the charity's performance, aiding in the preparation of reports for funding applications.
  • Adhere to financial protocols to ensure resource efficiency and accountability.
  • Communicate promptly with the Regional Operations Manager regarding any client complaints.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A Level 5 Diploma in Counselling.
  • Relate Post Qualifying Training in Counselling Young People or equivalent training.

Desirable:

  • Further qualifications in counselling or related fields.
