Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at South Moor Lodge Care Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Lead by example, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
- Conduct daily medication rounds, documenting accurately and ensuring medication audits are completed without errors.
- Complete daily charts to a high standard, ensuring all team members are aware of resident needs.
- Promote good practice in all aspects of care, challenging poor practice from team members.
- Investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.
Requirements:
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
- Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
- Knowledge of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of signs of abuse, and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
- Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
Preferred Requirements:
- Two years' experience in a similar role in a nursing home.
- At least one year's experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
- At least two years' experience in a Senior Care role in a residential or nursing home.
- One year's experience of caring for residents living with dementia.
- NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above.
- Knowledge of National Care Standards Act 2000.
- Conducting effective person-centred One to Ones.
- Experience of managing a team.
