Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at South Moor Lodge Care Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to residents, including assisting with daily living activities, medication management, and promoting independence.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and promoting a culture of respect and empathy within the team.
  • Conduct daily medication rounds, document accurately, and ensure high standards of care are maintained.
  • Participate in shift handovers, ensuring seamless communication and continuity of care.
  • Identify and address any concerns or issues, escalating to the Home Manager as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
  • Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
  • Knowledge of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of signs of abuse, and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation.
  • Live within 30 minutes of the Home.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Two years' experience in a similar role in a nursing home.
  • At least One year's experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home; or
  • At least Two years' experience in a Senior Care role in a residential or nursing home
  • One year experience of caring for residents living with dementia
  • NVQ Level 4 in Adult Health and Social Care or above
  • Knowledge of National Care Standards Act 2000
  • Conducting effective person-centred One to Ones
  • Experience of managing a team
