Job Title: Senior Care Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at South Moor Lodge Care Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.

About the Role:

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for leading your shift team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained, and promoting a positive and supportive work environment. You will work closely with our residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver person-centered care that meets their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
  • Lead your shift team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Work closely with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver person-centered care that meets individual needs.
  • Complete daily medication rounds and document accurately.
  • Ensure daily charts are completed to a high standard.
  • Promote good practice in all aspects of care and challenge poor practice from other team members.
  • Investigate complaints and concerns as directed by the Home Manager.

Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., Registered Nurse or NVQ minimum level 3).
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home setting.
  • Awareness of the principles of Person-Centred Care Planning.
  • Knowledge of the prevention of abuse of vulnerable adults, recognition of the signs of abuse, and procedures to follow in the event of an allegation of abuse.
  • Live within 30 minutes of the Home.
