About the Role

The House of Lords is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join its team as a Commissioner for Standards. This is a challenging and high-profile role that requires the ability to investigate and adjudicate on complaints of breaches of the House of Lords Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complaints of breaches of the Code of Conduct in a fair and impartial manner
  • Conduct thorough and rigorous investigations, analyzing complex information and reaching objective conclusions
  • Work closely with the House of Lords Administration to ensure effective delivery of services
  • Develop and maintain a robust Code of Conduct that promotes high standards of conduct among House of Lords members

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience in a complex organization, preferably in the public or not-for-profit sector
  • Proven ability to conduct investigations and adjudicate on complaints
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reach objective conclusions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders
