Ethics and Governance Specialist

About Us
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team at Richmond and Wandsworth Councils as an Independent Person. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the conduct of our elected councillors and co-opted members.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the work of our Standards Committees in promoting high standards of conduct amongst our members.
- Consider complaints against members and advise on appropriate action to be taken.
- Be involved in disciplinary matters related to the dismissal of statutory officers.
Requirements
- Experience in reviewing information to reach evidence-based conclusions.
- Strong personal ethics and high standards of probity.
- Good committee and communication skills.
- Experience in mediation or dispute resolution is desirable.
- Knowledge of public sector ethical governance issues is an asset.
Important Note
Candidates who are current or former councillors, co-opted members, or employees of Richmond Council and/or Wandsworth Council, or their close relatives, are not eligible for this position. Additionally, applicants should not be members of any political party.
