Overview of the Role

We are excited to invite a skilled professional to become a vital member of our Pharmacy Team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn, taking on the position of Senior Pharmacy Leader for Surgical and Critical Care.

In this pivotal role, you will influence the advancement of patient care within surgical and critical care settings, introducing innovative practices and state-of-the-art technologies to address the changing needs of our services in the Surgical Division.

You will play a crucial role in the planning and development of our new healthcare facility, ensuring that we provide the highest standards of care to our patients and local communities.

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Pharmacy Leader, your main responsibilities will include:

Directing the Pharmacy Clinical Service for Surgical and Critical Care, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team Leading the surgical pharmacy team Overseeing initiatives aimed at improving medication management within the surgical directorate

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council

Desirable Qualifications

Membership in a professional pharmacy organization MSc in Clinical Pharmacy

Essential Experience

Extensive post-registration experience in a hospital setting Proven experience in providing clinical pharmacy services across various surgical specialties Experience in pharmacy education and training, including mentorship Leadership experience in managing pharmacy staff Familiarity with policy implementation and review

Skills and Knowledge

Excellent communication skills with healthcare professionals and patients Ability to provide expert medication advice in specialized areas Strong problem-solving skills for complex situations Effective time management and prioritization abilities Advanced reasoning and judgment capabilities
