Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior School Nurse Leader to join our team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing holistic health assessments and interventions to vulnerable children and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive health assessments and develop personalized care plans to address unmet health needs and improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement trauma-informed care plans, taking into account the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) on their health.
  • Lead on safeguarding cases, including Children in Need of Protection, A&E referrals, and other vulnerable children, applying professional curiosity and expertise where necessary.
  • Provide expert advice, support, and professional challenge at multi-agency meetings to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams and statutory and voluntary agencies to plan, deliver, and evaluate care, promoting a high uptake of immunization and vaccination programs.
  • Maintain accurate, factual, and contemporaneous records in line with NMC guidelines and local policy.
Requirements
  • BSc in Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) qualification
  • Skills for teaching and assessing in clinical practice (ENB 998/FLAP or equivalent)
  • Child Protection training above foundation level
  • Evidence of continued Professional Development
  • NMC registration at level 1 and 3
