Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the esteemed ENT department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust as an advanced fellow in head and neck surgery.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, working alongside a team of experienced ENT and Maxillofacial Consultant head and neck surgeons. The head and neck group provides secondary care to the local population and tertiary services to the wider region.

The fellow will be exposed to a variety of clinic and theatre settings, including all aspects of head and neck surgery, advanced thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and transoral robotic surgery. They will also participate in research activities, aligning with the strong academic profile of the department and Institute of Head and Neck Studies and Education at the University of Birmingham.

Requirements
  • Medical Degree from a recognized University
  • FRCS (ORL-HNS) or equivalent qualification
  • CCT or equivalent at time of start of post
  • GMC registration at start of post
  • A minimum of 3 years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent experience and competencies
  • Previous experience in head and neck surgery
  • Commitment to a career in head and neck surgery
