Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison between Suffolk Highways and local government representatives, including parish, town, district, and county councillors.
  • Provide expert technical, legal, and procedural guidance to your team and manage escalated concerns.
  • Lead the planning and execution of community-driven initiatives focused on speed, safety, and maintenance, ensuring they are effective, economical, and aligned with asset management best practices.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture within your team, building and maintaining robust relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A relevant professional qualification or substantial experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing complex projects within highways engineering, road safety, or similar technical areas.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans effectively.
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management (CDM) and Health and Safety regulations.
  • Experience in navigating and influencing within a political landscape.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to persuade and engage effectively.
