Key Responsibilities
As a pivotal member of our team, reporting to the Community Liaison Manager, you will spearhead community engagement efforts within a designated area. Your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing robust connections between Suffolk Highways and local councils, including parish, town, district, and county representatives.
- Serving as the primary resource for technical, legal, and procedural guidance for your team and addressing escalated matters.
- Overseeing the creation and execution of locally initiated speed, safety, minor enhancement, and maintenance projects, ensuring they meet objectives while adhering to cost-effectiveness and sound asset management principles.
- Fostering a customer-centric culture within your team, cultivating strong relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- A relevant professional qualification or substantial experience in a related field is preferred.
- Extensive experience in managing complex projects in highways engineering, road safety, or similar technical areas.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and familiarity with interpreting plans and drawings.
- Knowledge of Construction Design Management (CDM) and Health and Safety regulations.
- Proven ability to work effectively and persuasively within a political context.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
