About the Role

The Data Governance Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating, supporting, and driving the day-to-day data management and data governance processes across Biffa Waste Services. This includes refining and developing the data governance framework, advocating for its implementation, and ensuring its alignment with the latest business and analytics strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Governance Framework Development
    • Ensure the data governance framework is up-to-date and aligned with the latest business and analytics strategy.
    • Advocate for the principles, structures, artefacts, and processes of the framework.
  • Team Engagement and Collaboration
    • Ensure the Data Governance team, data owners, data stewards, and Data Governance Board are engaged and working effectively.
    • Design and implement metrics to measure progress of the function.
  • Data Quality and Master Data Management
    • Ensure Data Objects are mastered and maintained in LeanIX.
    • Document and implement data standards across Biffa Waste Services.
    • Design and implement the data quality approach.
  • Information Management and Analytics
    • Work with the Head of D&A and BI Teams to ensure information management practices are well-designed and effective.
    • Implement enterprise data governance tools to ensure all data lineage and information definitions and standards are up-to-date and available to appropriate audiences.
  • Training and Communication
    • Ensure all roles and people impacted by data governance are considered for training, communication, and engagement.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience running a data governance program or team.
  • Knowledge of data standards and quality frameworks.
  • Experience with data lifecycle frameworks aligned to regulation.
