About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Manager to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a Data Governance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management and governance of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Governance Framework
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with our business strategy and objectives.
    • Ensure the framework is up-to-date and aligned with the latest business and analytics strategy.
  • Team Engagement
    • Engage and work effectively with the Data Governance team, data owners, data stewards, and the Data Governance Board.
    • Ensure the artefacts and processes to support these critical roles are in place.
  • Data Quality
    • Design and implement a data quality approach that ensures the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of our data.
    • Collaborate with data stewards, business, and technical experts to design future processes and application requirements.
  • Master Data Management
    • Design, implement, and maintain a Master Data Management approach that ensures data is governed, documented, retained, and maintained across the agreed lifecycle.
    • Ensure change impacts are documented, approved, and understood.
  • Enterprise Data Governance Tools
    • Implement enterprise data governance tools to ensure all data lineage and information definitions and standards are up-to-date and available to appropriate audiences.
  • Training and Communication
    • Ensure all roles and people impacted by data governance are considered for training, communication, and engagement.
    • Provide the technical content necessary to support data governance initiatives.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience running a data governance program or team.
  • Knowledge of data standards and quality frameworks.
  • Experience with data lifecycle frameworks aligned to regulation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview.
