This position is for a Behaviour Support Specialist in a Secondary Educational Institution. You will provide assistance to students in small groups and on an individual basis who require behavioural support.

Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will engage with KS3 and KS4 students in both group settings and one-on-one interactions. The students you will assist have unique learning requirements, including challenges related to learning and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) issues.

Your role involves being a positive influence and establishing a balanced approach to setting clear expectations with students.

You will collaborate closely with students to manage their behaviour and track their progress, with guidance and support from the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo). You may also be required to manage crisis situations, disclosures, and conflicts.

In your capacity as a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will facilitate vocational activities and sessions aimed at developing life skills, sports, design technology, arts, construction, computing, and food technology, alongside some core academic subjects.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for individuals who are confident in their behaviour management abilities and have experience working or volunteering with children or adults facing behavioural challenges.

Experience in youth work, psychology, or sports coaching is considered an asset.

All quoted pay rates will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role for suitable candidates in the future.
