This position is for a Behaviour Support Specialist at a Secondary Educational Institution. You will provide assistance to students in small groups and on an individual basis, focusing on their behavioural needs.

Position Overview:

  • Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

  • Initial Contract Duration: Temporary with potential for permanence

Role Responsibilities:

As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will work with KS3 and KS4 students, providing tailored support in both small groups and one-on-one settings. The students you will assist may have additional learning requirements, including learning challenges and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) concerns.

You are expected to serve as a positive role model, employing a balanced approach to establish suitable boundaries with students.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating closely with students to manage their behaviour and track their progress, with guidance and support from the Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo). You may also be required to address crisis situations, disclosures, and conflicts.

In your role, you will facilitate vocational activities and sessions aimed at developing life skills, sports, design technology, arts, construction, computing, and food technology, alongside some core academic subjects.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are looking for individuals who are confident in their behaviour management abilities and have experience working or volunteering with children or adults facing behavioural challenges.

Experience in youth work, psychology, or sports coaching is also advantageous.

All quoted pay rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role becoming available later.
